New Logo for LHS Contest (CANCELLED)
Description: This one is pretty simple. We need a new logo. The old one is dated, boring and in need of a face lift. The new logo simply has to reflect Linux in the Ham Shack as a product and as a podcast. How you create it, and what creative touches you lend to the logo are completely up to you. Images should be in TIFF or SVG format, or you can use lossy formats like JPEG if the overall size of the image is large enough. The winning logo will be featured on our Web site, T-shirts, banners and other LHS merchandise and event paraphernalia.
Deadline: Entries must be received by April 16th, 2010.
Prize: The winning logo will be awared $100.00, USD.
Introduce the Podcast (and Yourself) Contest
Description: Linux in the Ham Shack managed to obtain several introduction segments from attendees of the Ohio Linux Fest in 2009. We would love to have our listeners send us more. The contest is simple. Produce an audio clip which introduces Linux in the Ham Shack and simultaneously tells us about yourself, your business, your project, your dog or just anything you want to say. The more humorous the better. We will use every submission we receive. If you send us a prepared audio file, you will receive one entry in our random drawing. If you submit your introduction via our hotline numbers (+1-888-455-0305 or +1-417-429-4069), you will receive two entries. At a minimum, your intro should be something like:
“Hi. I’m <Your Name> from <Your Project>, and you’re listening to Linux in the Ham Shack.”
Creativity and humor are always pluses. You get the idea.
Deadline: Entries must be received by July 15th, 2010.
Prize: One random submission will be chosen for a grand prize of $25.00, USD.

If the New Logo for LHS Contest going to reopen. I am intrested in applying, but may I ask why it was cancelled?
Thank you so much!
Hi, Kallie. The contest was closed down due to lack of entries. I appreciate your interest but a new logo has already been purchased and is in use. If we have a similar art contest in the future, I will be sure to let you know.
Regards,

Just want to think you both for doing the Linux in the Ham Shack podcast. It has helped me to get back in the ham radio hobby after I was off the air for 10 years. This year 2011 I have been very active again all year. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to do the podcast and I know that they don’t get produced by themselves.
I also want to say that you two guys are perfect for the job.
Many thanks,
Dan
