  • Slow-Cooker Mongolian Beef
  • Description
    • We love Mongolian Beef, and this is a quick way to make a very tasty meal with a lot of ease!
  • Ingredients
    • 1/2 cup soy sauce
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
    • 2 tablespoons gingerroot, peeled and finely chopped
    • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    • 3 lb beef stew meat
    • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
    • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 cup beef broth (from 32-oz carton)
    • 3/4 cup julienned carrots
    • 2 teaspoons cider vinegar
    • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced thinly on the diagonal
    • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seed
  • Directions
    • Spray 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.  In slow cooker, stir together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, gingerroot and garlic.  In large bowl, toss beef with flour to coat. Discard any excess flour.  In 12-inch skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of the oil over medium-high heat. Add half of the beef; cook 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Transfer to slow cooker. Repeat with remaining 2 tablespoons oil and half of beef.  Add broth to skillet; heat to boiling over medium-high heat, scraping up any brown bits at bottom of skillet. Add to slow cooker; stir to combine.  Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours or until beef is tender and sauce is thickened. Add carrots and vinegar to slow cooker; stir to combine. Cover; cook about 30 minutes or until carrots are tender.  Garnish with green onions and sesame seed. Serve with cooked rice, if desired.

  • Pegu Club
  • Description
    • The Pegu Club cocktail originated the Pegu Club in Rangoon, the capital of Myanmar or Burma, which was formerly part of the British Empire. The Pegu Club, named for the nearby Pegu River, made its way around the world with Brits and foreigners alike in the early 20th century. No one is certain who created it or when it was invented, but it must have been before 1927, as that was the year of publication of Harry MacElhone's Barflies and Cocktails, which was the first book to make mention of the Pegu Club. From there it became a mainstay in bar culture and a clear cultural reference.

  • 2Bar Bottled-in-Bond Straight Bourbon
  • Description
    • Over a century ago the 2BAR ranch was founded in Texas. For five generations the 2BAR brand has stood for quality, independence, and hard work. Those values are brought to 2BAR Spirits, where locally grown grain is milled, mashed, fermented, distilled, and aged in oak barrels. We do all of this with one goal in mind: make a damn fine whiskey. We remain true to that lineage at our distillery in Seattle, Washington. Our single minded focus on making great whiskey is what motivates our team every single day. We do it the hard way because it’s the right way. At the end of the day it’s just really good whiskey, made by people with relentless passion.
