  • Introduction
  • David Rowe, VK5DGR, in an electrical engineer living in Adelaide, South Australia. His mission is to improve the world – just a little bit. He does this through developing innovative hardware and software for telephony. This hardware and software can help many people, for example through improved, low cost radio communication for poor people in remote areas of the world. So rather than making money from his technology, he gives it away.  He has a PhD in signal processing, and has proven skills in low bit rate speech compression and HF modems, with a focus on combining these technologies for digital voice over HF radio applications.  Projects you know him for are FreeDV, Codec2, and SM1000 Digital Voice Adapter.
