  • LinHES
    • LinHES (Linux Home Entertainment System) is a Linux distribution that centers around MythTV. The goal of this project is to make creating and maintaining a Home Theater PC as simple as possible. A blank system can be transformed to a fully functional HTPC in around 20 minutes. "We feel the product should work like an appliance and not require a lot of upkeep, while still allowing expansion and customization. Most of the system configuration, operation and even installs can be accomplished using only a remote control. However, if you are a person that likes to tinker and work directly with the OS that option is still available. All the configuration wizards can be disabled to avoid overwriting custom work."

This Weekend in Hedonism (Segment 3)
  • Cheryl's Recipe Corner!
  • Wonton Soup
  • Ingredients
    • 1/8 cup finely chopped green onion
    • 3 cups chicken stock
    • 24 (3.5 inch square) wonton wrappers
    • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger root
    • 1 teaspoon finely chopped green onion
    • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
    • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
    • 2 ounces peeled shrimp, finely chopped
    • 1/2 pound boneless pork loin, coarsely chopped
  • Directions
    • FOR SOUP: Bring the chicken stock to a rolling boil. Drop wontons in, and cook for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onion, and serve. Place about one teaspoon of the filling at the center of each wonton skin. Moisten all 4 edges of wonton wrapper with water, then pull the top corner down to the bottom, folding the wrapper over the filling to make a triangle. Press edges firmly to make a seal. Bring left and right corners together above the filling. Overlap the tips of these corners, moisten with water and press together. Continue until all wrappers are used. In a large bowl, combine pork, shrimp, sugar, wine, soy sauce, 1 teaspoon chopped green onion and ginger. Blend well, and let stand for 25 to 30 minutes. NOTES: Uncooked wontons will keep in freezer for a good 2 months if well wrapped. Thaw before frying, if you just want fried wontons, but they can be boiled straight from frozen for the soup, and cooked 2 minutes longer. TO FRY: Heat 2 to 3 cups of oil in a wok until hot. Deep-fry wontons in batches until golden, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Drain. Serve with dipping sauce or duck sauce, also called plum sauce.

    • Price: $42 (375ml)
    • Rating: 90
  • Additional Info:
    • Smells of rich, sweet notes and grain with a slightly heavier wood. The taste is slightly sweet, flavorful, and creamy with mild oak, vanilla and even a touch of spice. It finishes warm and rich. Distilled from 100% locally sourced organic corn. 2016 American Craft Spirit Associations Silver Medal. Appearance: It’s light, but still hued appropriately. More honey yellow than amber. Decent sticky legs. Nose: Honey and corn. Vanilla, grainy, grassy. Slight warm alcoholic twinge, but not a burn. Sweet and smooth. Taste: Corn, corn, corn. Sweet corn. A warm heat builds in the middle, and eases off to oaky vanilla, a dry woodiness, and corn syrup. There’s a little cherry fruit in there as well, and a touch of smoke. Not a long finish, but a grainy/grassy taste remains. It’s sweet, but not sticky. The flavors of the oak add a floral vanilla essence, and the heat helps cut through the sweetness. Very well balanced.
